The veteran aviation executive was Scoot's inaugural chief executive when the airline was established in 2012. He held that position until 2016, when he was appointed SIA's executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Wilson's return to Scoot was one of a number of executive changes SIA announced in a statement on Monday, with current Scoot chief executive, Lee Lik Hsin, named the airline group's executive vice president for commercial.
Mak Swee Wah moves from executive vice president for commercial to executive vice president for operations. Tan Kai Ping has been promoted from senior vice president for marketing planning to executive vice president for finance and strategy, while executive vice president for human resources and operations Ng Chin Hwee would take "early retirement" on March 31 2020, SIA said, before taking on the role of SIA Engineering Company chief executive on 1 April 2020.
“With these appointments, we have further strengthened our management team and better positioned the group for the future," SIA group chief executive, Goh Choon Phong, said.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Chin Hwee for his long and dedicated service to SIA and his outstanding contribution to the transformation of the airline. I look forward to his continued support and wish him every success in his new role.”
GOAIR: In other executive appointments this week, Indian LCC, GoAir, has appointed Vinay Dube as its new chief executive. Dube was previously Jet Airways chief executive from 2017 and 2019. He takes over from GoAir managing director, Jeh Wadia, who has been running the airline on an interim basis since Cornelis Vrieswijk left in February 2019. The airline is part of conglomerate The Wadia Group.
