Qatar Airways announces cabin crew redundancies; to return services to 80 destinations by mid-year

Qatar Airways, which has announced plans to restore operations to 80 regional and international destinations by June 30, has told staff the Doha-based airline would need to make a substantial number of jobs redundant as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Read More »
The group’s CEO, Akbar Al Baker, said there was ‘a new reality where many borders are closed” and there was “a grim global outlook” for the aviation industry.
In a letter to cabin crew dated May 4 and seen by Orient Aviation, Al Baker said staff would be paid all contractual dues, any outstanding overtime and be given the opportunity to re-join the company should it arise.
