Read More » As a result of the appointment, the airline said Treenuchagron's position as an independent director "shall be terminated". Treenuchagron replaced Chakkrit Parapuntakul, who remains as second vice chairman after resigning as acting president.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said this week Karen Clayton had added the duties of general counsel to her existing responsibilities as corporate secretary. Clayton takes on the role following the retirement of Jeff Shane, who was IATA general counsel for seven years before he retired on June 30.
Thailand low-cost carrier, Nok Air, this week informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand it had appointed Nuanwan Bhuprasert as chief financial officer (CFO), effective from July 17. She will succeed Wutthiphum Jurangkook, who has been acting CFO since November last year.
Niel Golightly has resigned from the Boeing Group’s top communication job this week following a complaint from a company employee about an article he wrote in 1987 on women serving in the U.S. forces. Golightly, who was a member of military at the time, was appointed the company’s senior vice president communications in January this year.
Golightly said in a statement: “The article is not a reflection of who I am. Nonetheless, I have decided, in the interests of the company, I will step down.” Boeing said executive vice president of enterprise operations and chief financial officer, Greg Smith, will take on Golightly’s role until a permanent successor is appointed.
