Airbus reports 39 deliveries in August

Airbus said this week it delivered 39 aircraft and received one new order in August.
Notable Asia-Pacific deliveries included four A320neos and one A321neo to India's IndiGo, two A320neos to Shenzhen Airlines and one A350-900 to Cathay Pacific Airways, figures from Airbus published this week showed. There were no cancellations for the month. Read More »
The new order was for a private A320neo to an unidentified customer.
The Toulouse-headquartered aerospace giant has logged 370 gross orders and 67 cancellations in the eight months to August 31, leaving net orders at 303 aircraft.
Rival Boeing this week said it received orders for eight aircraft in August: two 737 MAXs from Enter Air, three 777F freighters from EVA Air and three 737 MAXs from unidentified customers. It was the first order for the grounded 737 MAX in 2020.
The company has received 67 gross orders in 2020. However, year-to-date orders net of cancellations and conversions showed Boeing had lost 378 orders this year with net orders at negative 932 at August 31.
The Chicago-headquartered manufacturer delivered 13 aircraft last month, including one 787-9 each to India's Vistara, Japan's All Nippon Airways and United Airlines in the U.S., as well as 777Fs to Lufthansa Cargo and FedEx Express.
Deliveries have been affected by the grounding of the 737 MAX and could be additionally impacted in the period ahead as Boeing inspects recently completed 787 aircraft following the identification of a potential flaw in the type’s horizontal stabilizer.
