Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has announced Richard Thomson will return to the company in 2021 as chief financial officer, succeeding Jeff McDowall. Read More » Thomson, who worked for the airline from 2004 to 2017 in a "series of senior commercial and finance roles", was most recently the chief financial officer at Metlifecare. Air NZ said in a regulatory filing there would be a structured transition to Thomson. It had previously been announced McDowall would leave the company at the conclusion of a proposed equity raising in the first half of calendar 2021.
