SpiceJet seizes market offered by Singapore-India cargo services

Indian LCC SpiceJet's cargo arm, SpiceXpress, has commenced scheduled services to Singapore from Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai with 737Fs, Singapore's Changi Airport Group (CAG) said yesterday. Read More » The first flight, from Chennai, landed in Singapore on February 20. "This strategic move will help SpiceXpress build its network in Southeast Asia. Singapore is well-positioned as a springboard for SpiceXpress to other markets such as Europe and Australia," SpiceXpress CEO, Sanjiv Gupta, said. CAG managing director of air hub development, Lim Ching Kiat, said the additional cargo capacity would support transportation of essential goods such as medical and food supplies. SpiceXpress is the fifth cargo airline to service India-Singapore alongside AeroLogic, FedEx Express, Singapore Airlines Cargo and Turkish Cargo.
