Qantas Group forecasts 107% domestic capacity; leases five more E190s

Qantas Group said on Friday it expected Australian domestic capacity to increase 107% of pre-COVID-19 numbers in the 2021-2022 year and that its LCC, Jetstar, also would jump in capacity. "That’s great progress when you consider we were as low as 20% of our normal flying levels at the height of lockdown." On the same day the company announced its capacity outlook, it exercised an option to wet lease another five Embraer E190 regional jets from Australia's Alliance Aviation Services. The announcement brought to eight the E190s to be operated by Qantas since it established the wet lease agreement with Alliance in February.
