SMBC Aviation Capital orders 14 737 MAX 8s

Boeing has announced an order of 14 737 MAX 8s from lessor, SMBC Aviation Capital, which has Japan's Sumitomo Corporation and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group as major shareholders. It is an aircraft seeing increased customer demand following its successful return to service," SMBC Aviation Capital CEO, Peter Barrett, said.
The order will increase the 737 MAXs in the SMBC Aviation Capital fleet to 121. To date in calendar 2021, gross orders and commitments for the 737 MAX family exceed 250 aircraft, Boeing said.
