Vietnam suspends international passenger arrivals at country’s biggest airports

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has suspended inbound international passenger flights at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport and extended a similar restriction at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport in response to an increase in COVID-19 infections across the country. Read More » Hanoi's Noi Bai airport ban took effect at midnight on June 1 and will remain in place until June 7. The ban has been extended to June 14 for all international arrivals at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat airport. The Ho Chi Minh City restrictions took effect on May 28 and were intended to expire on June 4. International flights will continue to depart from Vietnam. The country recorded 260 new COVID-19 cases on May 31 compared with 14 new cases at the start of the month, the World Health Organization (WHO) has reported.
