AirAsia Indonesia posts US$193 million annual loss

Joint venture LCC, PT AirAsia Indonesia, has reported a 2.8 trillion rupiah (US$193 million) net loss for the 12 months to December 31, 2020, a significant deterioration from a net loss of 157.5 billion rupiah a year earlier. AirAsia Indonesia CEO, Dendy Kurniawan, said there were reasons to be encouraged about the outlook for 2021. “With vaccinations, better testing capabilities, the potential of international travel with global digital health passports, end-to-end contactless procedures and many digital products already in place at AirAsia, we remain optimistic our domestic business will recover within the next year," Kurniawan said.
