Malaysia Airlines Group (MAG) expects to have all employees vaccinated against COVID-19 by the middle of next month. Read More » The airline group has signed on for Malaysia's Industry Vaccination Centre program at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It aims to expedite vaccination for aviation personnel and other related industries. "Vaccination plays a vital role in the restart of domestic and international air travel and tourism," Group CEO, Captain Izham Ismail, said. The airline will have 5,150 Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines available for Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, Amal, MASkargo and AeroDarat employees. A similar program is planned for staff based in Penang. MAG said 90% of employees in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan had been vaccinated and 1,200 staff working in Peninsular Malaysia had received their first doses of the vaccine. The flag carrier group has made being vaccinated against COVID-19 compulsory for all employees.
