China Southern Airlines cuts on-board service in response to rising COVID-19 cases

China Southern Airlines (CSA) will suspend catering and meal reservations on domestic flights in medium and high-risk areas as the country battles a fresh outbreak of COVID-19. Read More » For flights into and out of Hong Kong and low-risk areas, CSA will offer pre-packaged food, individual beverages and disinfection wet wipes. The airline will add disinfection supplies to all flights and in its Pearl Lounges and introduce more frequent cleaning and disinfection rotations. Similarly, China Eastern Airlines (CEA) will simplify meal and beverage choices, suspend welcome drinks and increase disinfection frequency onboard. China reported 123 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, the third consecutive day of more than 100 new infections, World Health Organisation figures show.
