Singapore Airlines (SIA) has boosted its cold chain freight service with the introduction of a temperature-controlled container from Envirotainer for its passenger and freighter aircraft. Read More » The containers have live monitoring access, volume optimisation and enhanced temperature stability generated by rechargeable batteries that can maintain the shipment's integrity for 170 hours on a single charge, SIA said. "Envirotainer’s new Releye RLP adds to our repertoire of cold chain solutions," SIA senior vice president cargo, Chin Yau Seng, said. "These new containers, coupled with our extensive global network, will bring new standards to the handling of critical pharmaceutical cargo shipments. This is timely, given the importance of safe and reliable transportation of pharmaceuticals amid the current pandemic."
