China Southern Airlines narrows interim loss to US$725 million

China Southern Airlines (CSA) has reported a net loss of 4.7 billion yuan (US$725 million) for the six months to June 30, an improvement from a net loss of 8.2 billion yuan in interim 2020. Read More » Operating revenue climbed 32.4%, to 51.6 billion yuan, CSA informed the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Operating expenses were higher by 18.7%, at 56.5 billion yuan. "During the reporting period, the global economy gradually stabilized, but the recovery process diverged amid high uncertainties," CSA said in its financial report. "Looking into the future, the pandemic remains the biggest uncertain factor affecting the recovery of the air transportation industry."
