Read More » Prior to the suspensions, ANA had been operating the route five times a week with 787s. The Star Alliance member said the international network changes, which also included some frequency reductions to India and more flights to the U.S., were a response to "ongoing changes to immigration guidelines, recently instituted public health quarantine measures and passenger demand trends". ANA's international operation rate is 20% of its normal flying pattern for September and 21% for October. The cap on international passenger arrivals to Sydney has been cut by 50%, to 750 passengers a week, for September from 1,500 passengers a week previously as the state of New South Wales (NSW) ramps up its vaccination program. The Board of Airline Representatives of Australia (BARA), which represents 33 airlines that fly into and out of Australia, forecast more airlines will reduce flights into NSW as a result of the revised arrival cap rules.
