AirAsia Indonesia extends commercial flight suspension to September 30

AirAsia Indonesia said all scheduled commercial flights will remain suspended until September 30 "in support of the government’s efforts to control the fluctuating COVID-19 situation in Indonesia". Read More » The LCC said it was committed to serving "regular, chartered and cargo flight services to support the repatriation of travellers and shipment of goods" as well as other essential purposes. AirAsia Indonesia's flights have been suspended since July 6. "We will continue to evaluate the situation closely and be prepared to reinstate our scheduled air services at any time as the situation improves," AirAsia Indonesia said. The number of new daily COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has fallen from a peak of 56,757 in mid-July to 7,797 on Saturday, according to the World Health Organisation.
