SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) has officially launched its Lean Academy, with 100% of its workforce expected to be trained in Lean practices that optimise certain operational processes by early 2023. The initiative is backed by S$2.4 million (US$1.8 million) in salary support from the Singapore Economic Development Board. Read More » SIAEC said that in the longer term training at the Lean Academy would be extended to the wider aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul community.

Air travel technology company, SITA, said its Unified Aircraft Communications product, used for voice and data communications by airlines and air traffic controllers, will add the Iridium Certus satellite network to its portfolio. This will increase aircraft communications capacity and support the "adoption of future air traffic management practices and applications that help optimize aircraft and airspace operations", SITA said.

Air travel services provider, dnata, has signed up for the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 initiative, which aims to increase the number of women in senior positions and under-represented roles to a minimum representation of 25% by 2025, or increase current levels by a minimum of 25% by 2025, across all divisions.

Boeing has named Matt Welch as vice president investor relations, effective immediately. He succeeds Maurita Sutedja, who has accepted a position outside Boeing. Previously, Welch was Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president revenue management.
