Vietnam’s VietJet says it is ready to meet any rise in travel demand

Read More » The LCC’s results, audited by PwC. were higher than the airline first calculated, reporting a post-tax profit of VND34.2 billion (US$1.5m), up 102% on last year on transport revenue of VND5,022 billion.
Consolidated revenue was VND7,556 billion while the consolidated profit after tax reached VND121.8 billion producing year-on-year growth of 161%. VietJet reported it flew more than 4.8 million of passengers on 34,000 flights in the first six months of the year and saw year-on-year growth of up to 45% in its cargo operations. The airline has tested the IATA Travel Pass to gradually resume safe flights and said it was focusing on digital transformation to develop systems promoting customer convenience, facilitating cargo operations and optimising flight operations. It had also been “proactively looking for alternative sources of revenue like air cargo, cost optimization, extended aviation services and financial investments”.
VietJet opened six direct flights from Da Lat, Nha Trang, Thanh Hoa, Vinh and Da Nang to Phu Quoc Island and has introduced “a safe and favourable travel” package to promote the island’s economic recovery.
