Jet Aviation says its maintenance operation in Singapore has become its second facility to be awarded Aerospace Standards (AS/EN) EN 9110 certification in recognition of its quality management system. Pratt & Whitney and the US Federal Aviation Administration are investing US$50 million to develop an ultra-quiet engine fan and advanced combustion technology designed to reduce noise, emissions, and fuel consumption. The project, which will see the parties each contribute $US25m, is part of the third phase of the FAA’s Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions and Noise (CLEEN III) initiative.
