Thai PM urges expanded national reopening targets

Read More » Upping the ante on a more limited reopening plan outlined by a government official this weekend, Prayut said in a nationally televised speech that fully vaccinated tourists from at least 10 countries — including the UK, Singapore, China and the U.S. — should be allowed to enter Thailand without quarantining. "I have instructed the CCSA (the Center for COVID-91 Situation Administration) and the Ministry of Public Health to urgently consider within this week to allow, as of November 1, international visitors to enter Thailand without any requirement for quarantine if they are fully vaccinated and arrive by air from low-risk countries,” The Bangkok Post quoted him as saying. The newspaper said Prayut pledged to reopen to more countries by December 1 and others by January 1. Tourists from countries not on the low-risk list would be allowed to enter Thailand, but they would be required to quarantine.
