Thai prime minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, wants Thailand to reopen to at least 10 low-risk countries from November 1 so it can take advantage of the year-end holiday period. Read More » Upping the ante on a more limited reopening plan outlined by a government official this weekend, Prayut said in a nationally televised speech that fully vaccinated tourists from at least 10 countries — including the UK, Singapore, China and the U.S. — should be allowed to enter Thailand without quarantining. "I have instructed the CCSA (the Center for COVID-91 Situation Administration) and the Ministry of Public Health to urgently consider within this week to allow, as of November 1, international visitors to enter Thailand without any requirement for quarantine if they are fully vaccinated and arrive by air from low-risk countries,” The Bangkok Post quoted him as saying. The newspaper said Prayut pledged to reopen to more countries by December 1 and others by January 1.
