Fiji Airways showcases natural draw cards in ecology focused inflight video

Read More » The five minute safety video is shot across seven locations and includes eco-friendly initiatives including mangrove rehabilitation projects, solar powered resorts, turtle sanctuaries and coral nurseries. “The unveiling of this production is more than just another safety video,” Fiji Airways CEO Andre Viljoen said. “It’s very symbolic of the journey we have been on for the past 18 months and our return to the skies in an eco-sustainable manner. The production started before COVID-19 struck, so to be able to finally play it onboard our aircraft signals we are very close to welcoming tourists back to Fiji.” The South Pacific holiday destination has lifted quarantine requirements from November 11 for Australia, New Zealand, the U.S., the UK, the UAE, Canada, Qatar, Germany, Spain, France, South Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan and most Pacific Island countries and territories. It is planning an official reopening of its network on December 1 when Fiji Airways will return to major tourism destinations. The airline’s first commercial flight since March 2020 will depart Sydney for Nadi on the morning of December 1 as part of a schedule that will operate 14 flights a week using the airline’s latest A350-900s and 737 MAXs. Also scheduled to resume are daily Fiji to Los Angeles, Melbourne and Brisbane services, five flights a week to San Francisco and two 737 MAX flights to Honolulu. In Asia, there will be three flights weekly to Hong Kong and two a week to Singapore and Tokyo-Narita with A330s.
