DHL Express Malaysia has started work on a RM200 million (US$48 million) auto-sort gateway at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) designed to meet the demands of Malaysia’s growing logistics sector. Read More » The company said at a ground-breaking ceremony Thursday the centre will be equipped with new technologies and designed to optimise shipment processing, including a high speed dimensioning and weighing system. Enhanced security at the gateway will feature more than 250 closed-circuit television and high-speed X-ray screening systems. A 500 kilowatt peak solar system and energy efficient lighting systems are designed to help DHL meet its zero emissions target by 2050. The new KLIA facility will service two dedicated aircraft flying five times a week to and from Hong Kong and four times a week to Singapore and return.
