Singapore Airlines (SIA) is poised to roll out its much anticipated narrow-body cabin products that are designed to offer a similar cabin experience that of wide-body jets. Read More » The S$230 million cabin redesign will be introduced on SIA’s 737-8 fleet and will include a new lie-flat business seat conceived by London-based Factorydesign and manufactured by Thomson Aero Seating. Economy cabins will feature the latest generation slim-line seats from Collins Aerospace designed with a focus on ergonomics. The 737 MAXs will have 154 seats,10 in business class and the remainder in economy, and feature Panasonic’s X-series seat back screens, allowing customers to access KrisWorld entertainment content as well as the technology company’s inflight Wi-Fi service offering data connectivity. SIA said the B737-8s will progressively enter service on short to medium haul flights across its network in coming weeks, including to Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal and Thailand. “This is the culmination of three years of innovation and hard work, involving extensive customer research and close partnerships with designers and suppliers,’’ said SIA executive vice president commercial, Lee Lik Hsin. “As a result, we can now offer customers a premium travel experience across our entire full-service network no matter how long or short their journeys. This significant investment demonstrates the commitment of Singapore Airlines to maintaining our leadership position in the airline industry.”
