Read More » The U.S. airline made the announcement as part of its upcoming northern summer schedule. “American also has adjusted operations on some existing Asia and South America routes and reduced frequencies, allowing the airline to offer more options to customers next summer,’’ the airline said. Production problems with the 787 also prompted AA to drop to Edinburgh and Shannon. However, it will operate a new service from New York-JFK to Doha in Qatar. It also is renewing seasonal routes to popular European destinations such as Barcelona, Lisbon, Venice, Athens and Rome. “Adding Doha to our expansive global network and resuming a significant portion of our European routes provides our customers with more choices as they plan next year’s vacations,” said AA vice president of network planning, Brian Znotins.
