China Airlines reports 11% month-on-month passenger growth

China Airlines' (CAL) monthly report showed the Taiwan-based carrier flew 10,508 passengers in November, up 11.3% month-on-month from 9,443 air travellers in October. Read More » Despite the month-on-month improvement, the November figure was down 63.3% from the 28,635 passengers CAL carried in the same month in 2020. The SkyTeam alliance member said passenger revenue for the reported month was TW$280 million (US$10.1 million), up from TW$227 million in October. However, passenger revenue was 41.3% below the TW$477 million achieved in November 2020. In an indication of the gap between current operating conditions and pre-COVID-19 levels, in November 2019 CAL transported 1.3 million passengers and booked passenger revenues of TW$7.2 billion.
