Singapore Airlines passenger numbers almost double in December

Singapore Airlines (SIA) group carriers flew 596,300 passengers in December, a 97.3% improvement from the 302,300 passengers flown in November. Read More » The airline group, full service Singapore Airlines and LCC Scoot, said the significant step-up in passenger demand was on the back of continued expansion of Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights and the end-of-year travel season. SIA's monthly traffic report said group capacity, measured by available seat kilometres (ASK), was at 45% of pre-COVID-19 levels for the reported month. It expected capacity for January and February to be at 47% and 45%, respectively, of pre-COVID-19 levels. "The group will continue to be nimble and manage its network in accordance with the prevailing market conditions and regulations, "SIA said.
