SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) has signed a 10-year agreement with Rolls-Royce covering line maintenance and in-field services for the engine maker's Trent 7000, 1000, 900, 800, 700, 500 and XWB powerplants. Airbus plans to recruit 6,000 staff amid signs of recovery across the aviation sector. About a quarter of the planned recruitments will be targeted in the areas of decarbonisation, digital transformation and cyber technology and a third of the total recruitment will be graduate positions, Airbus said. "Not only will we look at acquiring the new skills Airbus needs in the post-COVID world, but we will do our utmost to reinforce diversity across the company, fostering a safe and inclusive culture, reinforcing team Airbus to be ready to pioneer sustainable aerospace," Airbus chief human resources and workplace officer, Thierry Baril, said.
