SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) has signed a 10-year agreement with Rolls-Royce covering line maintenance and in-field services for the engine maker's Trent 7000, 1000, 900, 800, 700, 500 and XWB powerplants. Read More » The maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider said the contract was an extension of its existing on-wing care services with Rolls-Royce.

Airbus plans to recruit 6,000 staff amid signs of recovery across the aviation sector. About a quarter of the planned recruitments will be targeted in the areas of decarbonisation, digital transformation and cyber technology and a third of the total recruitment will be graduate positions, Airbus said. "Not only will we look at acquiring the new skills Airbus needs in the post-COVID world, but we will do our utmost to reinforce diversity across the company, fostering a safe and inclusive culture, reinforcing team Airbus to be ready to pioneer sustainable aerospace," Airbus chief human resources and workplace officer, Thierry Baril, said.
