Japan Airlines announces deeper cuts in February domestic schedule

Japan Airlines (JAL) has further reduced its domestic flying for February in response to market conditions. Read More » The oneworld alliance member's latest schedule update shows 4,991 more domestic flights have been cancelled for February: 2,173 from February 1 to February 14 and 2,818 more to the end the month. The changes will result in JAL operating 71% of its normal domestic schedule in the first 14 days of next month, 19 percentage points lower than the 90% operation rate outlined in the airline's previous schedule update. The operation rate for the rest of February was 76%. On Monday, Japan recorded 54,180 new cases of COVID-19, the country's highest daily total since the pandemic began.
