ANA HOLDINGS INC. reports US$892 million net loss for nine months to December 31

ANA HOLDINGS INC, the parent company of All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Peach, has reported a net loss of 102.8 billion yen (US$892.2 million) for the nine months to December 31, an improvement from a net loss of 309.6 billion yen in the same months in 2020. "While the airline industry continues to face difficulties due to the spread of the Omicron variant and continued restrictions on entry and travel in many countries, there are signs of recovery in the increased demand for domestic flights in the U.S.and other countries," it said. The company reported an operating profit of 100 million yen for the three months to December 31, the first quarterly operating profit in eight years and a result that exceeded analysts' expectations of an operating loss. ANA reaffirmed its forecast of a 100 billion yen net loss for its full fiscal year, to March 31 2022. The company also announced it had changed its order for 16 A320neo and two A321neoLR aircraft to 15 A320neo and three A321neo.The change took the company's business environment into account, ANA said.
