Boeing 777-9X headed to Singapore Airshow

Boeing said a 777-9X flight test aircraft will make its Asia debut at next week's Singapore Airshow. Read More » The aircraft is scheduled to participate in daily flying displays that will highlight its new carbon fibre composite wing and quiet GE9X engines, Boeing said. "We are looking forward to gathering with our industry colleagues in Singapore in support of the recovery of aviation in Southeast Asia. It provides us with an opportunity to engage with customers, government officials, partners, suppliers, media and other stakeholders from the region," Boeing president Southeast Asia, Alex Feldman, said. "We will highlight our investment in, and commitment to, technology, innovation and sustainability, building the foundation for the long-term growth of the aerospace industry." Boeing said its maritime patrol aircraft, advanced fighters and trainers and autonomous systems would also be present at the airshow, beginning on February 15. The 777-9X program, which has been delayed, is now in flight testing with certification due in mid-to-late 2023.
