Virgin Australia (VA) said members of its Velocity frequent flyer program will again be able to use points to book reward seats on alliance partner, Singapore Airlines (SIA). Read More » Flight redemptions were paused in April last year after VA entered voluntary administration amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The redemptions scheme re-commenced on Monday and initially will be limited to economy class seats. VA said bookings in premium cabins and the ability to transfer points between VA's Velocity and SIA's KrisFlyer frequent flyer program were expected to return shortly. "As international travel demand returns to the market, our partnership with Singapore Airlines provides a really fantastic way for our members to use the points they have accumulated during the pandemic to travel to hundreds of destinations across the globe," Velocity frequent flyer CEO, Nick Rohrlach, said. "We are starting to see some green shoots in our redemption bookings as travel hungry Australians plan their next domestic or international trips."
