Rolls-Royce plans to increase headcount at its Singapore facility by 150 as a result of a lift in international travel and consequent increased demand for maintenance, repair and overhaul work, local media has reported, citing comments from the engine maker's president Southeast Asia, Pacific and South Korea, Bicky Bhangu. A year ago, the global engine manufacturer eliminated 240 jobs in Singapore representing approximately 24% of its staff in the city state.

Japan-headquartered IHI Aerospace has reported a net profit of 27.6 billion yen (US$239.4 million) for the nine months to December 31, 2021, an improvement from a net loss of 10.1 billion yen in the same months in 2020. Revenue rose 6.7%, to 816.2 billion yen. Demand for air transport on domestic and short distance international routes was recovering, resulting in a rise in spare parts sales, the company said. However, its civil aero engines business continued to be impacted by COVID-19, IHI added.

Australian start-up carrier, Bonza, has selected Total Image Group to manufacture staff uniforms and also a line of swimwear for the ultra-low-cost airline.
