SIA Engineering completes sustainable aviation fuel trial

SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) has successfully completed a trial using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to perform engine tests. Read More » Conducted on a Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine used on an A380, the test found a 39% blended SAF produced 32% lower carbon emissions compared with conventional jet fuel. "The trial paves the way for more engine tests to be performed using SAF when the adoption of SAF scales up," SIAEC said.
In other SIAEC news, the company has reached an agreement with SR Technics Switzerland Ltd to purchase 75% of SR Technics Malaysia Sdn Bhd for US$3.75 million. SR Technics Switzerland will retain a 25% holding in the Malaysian MRO, which is based in Selangor. The acquisition was first mooted in March last year.
