Airbus targets 711 aircraft deliveries for 2022; reports US$4.8 billion full-year net profit

Read More » The air framer yesterday announced a net profit of 4.2 billion Euros (US$4.8 billion) for the 12 months to December 31, 2021, surging into the black from a 1.1 billion Euro net loss in fiscal 2020. Revenue rose 4%, to 52.1 billion Euros, Airbus said in a regulatory filing. “It [2021] was a year of transition where our attention shifted from navigating the pandemic to recovery and growth," Airbus CEO, Guillaume Faury, said. “The strong financials reflect the higher number of commercial aircraft deliveries, the good performance of our Helicopters and Defence and Space businesses and our efforts on cost containment and competitiveness." Airbus forecast commercial aircraft deliveries will rise 17.8%, to 711 this year from 611 deliveries in 2021.
In other Airbus news, the company’s Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) pilot training joint venture with Singapore Airlines (SIA) recently installed a fourth A350 full flight simulator at its Seletar Aerospace Park complex.
