Safran has reported a net profit of 760 million euros (US$849 million) for the 12 months to December 31, down 10% from 844 million euros a year earlier. Revenue declined 7.5%, to 15.3 billion euros, Safran said in a regulatory filing. "Safran is well placed to benefit from the positive trends in both aftermarket and original equipment as narrow-body traffic returns to pre-crisis levels by end 2022," Safran CEO, Olivier Andriès, said.
Rolls-Royce returned to profitability in calendar 2021 with net profit of 124 million pounds, an improvement from a restated net loss of 3.1 billion pounds in 2020. Revenue eased 2.4%, to 11.5 billion pounds, Rolls-Royce said in a regulatory filing. "The positive momentum we are generating gives us confidence in our expectations for 2022 and our future growth," Rolls-Royce CEO, Warren East, said. "We have achieved the benefits of our restructuring programme a year ahead of schedule, positioning civil aerospace to capitalise on increasing international travel."
