Airbus and Delta Air Lines will work together on "industry leading research to accelerate the development of a hydrogen-powered aircraft" and the ecosystem it required.
Still on Airbus, Occidental said its subsidiary, 1PointFive, had sold 400,000 tonnes of carbon removal credits to the aerospace giant. Airbus has pre-purchased the capture and permanent sequestration of 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year for four years with an option to secure more volume in the future, Occidental said.
Fiji Airways has welcomed the first two recipients of its High Flyer for students of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM): qualified pilot, Meeral Kumar, and aircraft engineering maintenance graduate Ilisabeta Fifita. “This year’s Women's Week at Fiji Airways has been more than good optics. It's been about opportunities," Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljoen, said. "At the behest of the women of Fiji Airways, we made a commitment to increase the number of women pilots and engineers within the airline. The excellent qualifications of Meeral and Ilisabeta made them easy choices to welcome to our team."
HAECO and Liebherr Aerospace have extended their landing gear service agreement to landing gear maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to Embraer E-Jet E1 operators in China.
In a post on social networking site LinkedIn, Starlux Airlines has announced it has installed and certified an A350 full flight simulator at its operations centre after four months of assembling and testing. It is the Taiwan-headquartered airline's second full flight simulator. It will operate alongside an existing unit operated for A320neo pilot training at the airline.
STELIA Aerospace has built a customised version of its Equinox business class seat for the A321neo fleet of Taiwan’s China Airlines.
