Hong Kong Airport passenger numbers for February up 21.1% over January

Passengers travelling through Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) rose 21.1% month-on-month, to 86,000 in February, from 71,000 in January. Read More » The February figure also was up 80.2% from 48,000 passengers processed in the same month in 2021. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) passenger volumes remained significantly lower than levels recorded pre-pandemic in 2019. “Departure passengers to Mainland China and Southeast Asia experienced the most significant increases during the month, while transfer/ transit passenger volume underperformed due to tightened restrictions," AAHK said. HKIA recorded 5.9 million passengers in February 2019.
