Virgin Australia (VA) has announced a reduction in business class fares that positions the cost of a seat at the front of its aircraft up to 60% below pre-COVID-19 levels. Read More » “Our business class airfare pricing is another example of how we have reset our cost base and invested in creating premium travel experiences at very affordable and competitive prices - which we know our customers love," VA CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, said. “We are confident our value-for-money travel experiences will see us achieve a 33% share of the market this year, which we have always said was our goal. Travel demand is going from strength to strength with passenger bookings ahead of 2019 levels. This shows just how bright our future is." VA will continue to serve all segments of the market as it builds a "highly competitive proposition around our long-standing and most loyal guests", which include price-conscious corporate travellers, small and medium-sized businesses (SME), premium leisure travellers and holidaymakers, the airline said. At present, VA's lowest business class fare is A$299 (US$224) one way between Melbourne and Sydney.
