SriLankan Airlines seeks bids for new aircraft under dry lease

SriLankan Airlines (SLA) has issued Requests for Proposals (RFP) for up to 42 aircraft, state documents posted on the airline's tender notices website. Read More » Four separate RFPs invited bids for 11 "new generation narrow-body" aircraft such as the A220 and E190-E2/E195-E2, 10 new generation wide-body airplanes including the A350 and 787 types, 11 A320/A321 family aircraft and 10 A330s. "Bids are invited by the chairman of the bid evaluation committee, on behalf of SLA, for the supply of suitable aircraft from eligible and qualified bidders, on a dry lease basis, for four to six years or more," SLA's notice of procurement said. The oneworld alliance member requires the aircraft to be delivered to its headquarters in Colombo between December 2022 and October 2025.
