Cathay Pacific is intensifying its focus on sustainability with the launch of a pilot program that offers its corporate customers the opportunity to support development of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry. Read More » The airline group has signed eight corporates as launch customers of its Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel Programme: AIA, Airport Authority Hong Kong, DHL Global Forwarding, HSBC, Kintetsu World Express, PwC China, Standard Chartered and Swire Pacific. “In addition to our launch corporate customers, we have received a very enthusiastic response from other corporates. We welcome other interested companies to sign up to reduce their indirect emissions from flight related activities. Climate change is a global challenge and we need to work together to tackle it," Cathay Pacific Airways CEO, Augustus Tang, said. “We see the launch of this Corporate SAF Programme as an important step for us to engage other like-minded organisations and as a first step in sending an important demand signal to the SAF supply chain that there is firm interest [in SAF] around the region, not only from airlines, but also from the aviation value-chain all the way to end users of both passenger and cargo transportation." The company has said previously it aims for SAF to contribute 10% of its total fuel use by 2030.
