Writing in the company's 2021 environmental, social and governance (ESG) report, China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings (CALC) CEO, Brian Poon Ho Man, expressed confidence in the recovery of the aviation industry. "With more and more countries relaxing border lockdowns and measures taken by airlines such as adding routes and launching innovative service models, aviation is exhibiting resilience once again," Poon said. "CALC will plan our future sustainable development surrounding the aviation full-value chain blueprint, enhance our ESG governance, embrace a sustainable future for the aviation industry and become a responsible corporate citizen role model. We believe we will tap opportunities afforded by the forthcoming recovery to create long-term value for the mutual development of the business, society and the environment."
Embraer delivered six commercial aircraft to customers in the three months to March 31: four E175s and two E195-E2s. The figure was down from nine commercial aircraft deliveries in the same three months in 2021. The company’s commercial aircraft firm order backlog at March 31, 2022 was 315 aircraft compared with 325 at December 31, 2021.
Pratt & Whitney is partnering with the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) to distribute US$250,000 in grants to "support innovative E-STEM education programs around the world that will build the skills and capacity for students aged 11-18 years to use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to address environmental challenges", the aerospace company.
