Malaysia’s regulator welcomes increase in air traffic rights applications

Kasim, said airlines have been busy applying for air traffic rights (ATR) after the nation was reopened to international visitors. Read More » “Since the government’s announcement that Malaysia’s international borders were to be fully reopened from April 1, there has been a spurt of ATR applications from airlines," Kasim said. "This is indeed an encouraging development as it signals the industry is gradually transitioning towards recovery." MAVCOM received 14 ATR applications for international routes and eight for domestic routes in the three months to March 31. Another 15 ATR applications were received in the first half of April: seven for cargo flights, three for domestic passenger flights and five for passenger services on international routes.
