Sabre swings back to profit in March quarter

Sabre has recorded a net profit of US$42.1 million for the three months to March 31, a turnaround from a net loss of US$266.1 million in the year-ago quarter. Read More » Revenue jumped 79%, to US$584.9 million, Sabre said in a regulatory filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. "We are encouraged by the strengthening trends in our business and have seen consistent sequential volume improvements in key metrics week over week since mid-January 2022," Sabre CEO, Sean Menke, said. "After a slow start in January, due to the Omicron variant, the travel recovery accelerated sharply. Bookings in April ended at the highest level of recovery versus 2019 since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic."
