Jet Airways confirms 737-800 test flight

India's Jet Airways has flown for the first time in three years, conducting a 737-800 test flight late last week ahead of expected proving flights with the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). We expect to schedule proving flights in the coming days, which will be jointly determined with the DGCA." Jet Airways last flew in 2019, the year it shut down due to financial failure. In June 2021, India's National Company Law Tribunal approved a resolution plan for the carrier, led by the United Arab Emirates-based entrepreneur, Murari Lal Jalan, and Florian Fritsch, the founder of UK-based investment fund Kalrock Capital. Media has reported Jet Airways has been granted the 9W airline code used in its previous life.
