Asiana Airlines returns A350-900 to passenger configuration to meet anticipated demand

Asiana Airlines has returned the main cabin of an A350-900 that has been operating cargo-only flights during the pandemic to a passenger configuration. Read More » Late last week, engineers and technical staff removed 24 cargo pallets from the main cabin of the A350-900 and reinstalled 283 economy seats in the space. Safety checks also were completed on the reinstalled seats. The aircraft is scheduled to resume passenger service on long-haul routes to the Americas and Europe from June. Asiana said returning the aircraft to passenger service was a pre-emptive response to rapidly increasing demand now that travel restrictions were being eased in several of its markets. The Star Alliance member converted seven passenger aircraft - four A350-900s and three A330-300s - to cargo-only flights after pandemic restrictions and closed international borders decimated global air passenger demand.
