Read More » In a May 26 statement the airlines said they had revised forward capacity to 103% of pre-COVID-19 domestic levels for July and August from a previous estimate of 107%. “Fuel prices have kept rising in the past month and require the group to rebalance capacity and fares in response,” the statement said. “The group will monitor market conditions and adjust capacity as needed.” The schedule changes will “generally lead to a higher seat factor on flights across the group”, the statement said. The group’s international network forecast is unchanged with capacity to be just below 50% of pre-pandemic levels by June 30 and increase to 70% by the end of September. “International continues to see strong demand, particularly as we move towards the northern summer peak and more countries relax restrictions,” the airlines said.
