Airbus has launched Airspace Link HBCplus. It allows airlines to connect to a choice of Managed Service Providers (MSP) for onboard connectivity via a new certified terminal and radome to be built into Airbus aircraft. Safran Passenger Innovations (SPI) is the chosen terminal provider and hardware integrator of ThinKom’s proven antenna technology, Airbus said, and added Inmarsat is the first approved MSP.
Collins Aerospace and the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) at Wichita State University are developing a “Fly Your Wheels Suite”. It re-engineers the left closet near the front door of a narrow-body to allow passengers to travel on board with their own power wheelchairs without eliminating existing seats.
Panasonic Avionics Corporation and Recaro Aircraft Seating have unveiled Recaro's CL3810 economy class seat at the Aircraft Interiors Exposition trade show in Hamburg. It features Panasonic's Astrova in-flight entertainment system.
