Virgin Australia applies for codeshare with Qatar Airways on selected European routes

Virgin Australia (VA) has applied to Australia's International Air Services Commission (IASC) to add its airline code to Qatar Airways flights from Australia to Milan, Paris and Rome via Doha. Read More » VA said the free sale codeshare with Qatar Airways would be an addition to VA's existing codeshare with Singapore Airlines (SIA) on flights from Australia to Milan and Paris via Singapore. The airline’s application to the IASC, the manager of Australia's air traffic rights, also said it did not intend to be a marketing carrier on Etihad Airways operated services. The Abu Dhabi-based airline “may continue to market” VA-operated Australian domestic services and flights to New Zealand, VA said. The deadline for responses to VA’s application is July 25.
