ANA updates second-half 2014 schedule to meet demand
August 26th 2014
Japan’s largest international carrier, All Nippon Airways (ANA), has announced it would readjust its second-half 2014 schedule to accommodate increased demand for intra-Asian passenger travel and capitalize on the expansion of Tokyo Bay’s Haneda Airport. Read More »
ANA is adding capacity on its Haneda-Taipei (Song Shan), -Manila and -Seoul (Gimpo) routes, as well as on the Narita-Shanghai (Pudong) service. Frequencies, however, remain unchanged.
ANA is still struggling in China after a China-Japan territorial dispute had weakened traffic from third-quarter 2013. Even though the carrier has recently reported a five-point improvement in load factor to 60% on its Chinese routes, it still remains too low to be considered a breakthrough. ANA will reduce its daily Narita-Chengdu rotation to four-weekly from October 26.
ANA has announced a net income of JPY3.5 billion (US$34.4 million) for its first quarter, to June 30, compared with a loss of JPY6.6 billion for the same months in 2013. First quarter revenue increased by 10% year-on-year, to JPY386.6 billion, although operating costs rose, mainly due to fuel price increases, said the airline.
