Virgin Atlantic and IndiGo sign UK-India codeshare

Virgin Atlantic and IndiGo have agreed to codeshare between India and the U.K. Virgin Atlantic will place its VS airline code on IndiGo-operated domestic flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The two carriers also have plans to expand their codeshare to Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Nagpur, Pune, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam. IndiGo will add its airline code on Virgin Atlantic flights from India to the U.S. via London Heathrow. “This Summer marks our largest ever flying programme from India with three daily direct services to London. Our new partnership takes our commitment to even greater heights,” Virgin Atlantic chief commercial officer, Juha Jarvinen, said. IndiGo CEO, Ronojoy Dutta, added: “This agreement will not only help offer a seamless travel experience from London to as many as 16 destinations in India, but it will open up international trade opportunities in the country from enhanced accessibility.”
